An automatic data backup system is a system that allows returning to its original state after a serious software or hardware resource failure. Restoring the previous state of the resource leads to a partial loss of data. But, unfortunately, there are situations when there is simply no other way to recover correct operation.
In less critical situations, the availability of data backups allows partial recovery. Static systems mean creating the backups at regular intervals. Dynamic systems are real-time data backup systems. In general cases, this is a complete backing up of all data changes to the “redundant” server. In this case, when the primary server is completely out of order, it is possible to restore the services on the redundant server as soon as possible, and then restore the primary server.
A dynamic backup system is not something standard. And in each case, its development and implementation involves the development of a separate project. In the case of a dynamic system, it is not necessary to back up all data. It is enough to back up only a critical set of services in order to avoid significant traffic between the main and redundant servers. Otherwise, such a decision may adversely affect the operation of basic services due to the constant backup of unnecessary data (temporary files, logs, binary files from the operating system, etc.)
